Lifecycle Psychotherapy and Counselling

Supervision

I have a diploma in Integrative Clinical Supervision. I have supervised trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists, and psychologists, both one-to-one and in groups. I have worked with practitioners from different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Integrative, Transactional Analysis, Art Therapy, Psychodynamic, Relational, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and Person-Centred approaches. I have supervised clinicians in private practice, charities and organisations.

As a supervisor, I aim to offer a safe environment in which to explore clinical work and how it may connect to the practitioner’s own responses and ways of relating. The practitioner is an individual who is involved in “relating” within their work with clients, and their personhood and profession, co-exist. I feel that it is important to be aware of how relationships within clinical supervision, the therapy room and wider systems, influence and impact one other. I encourage practitioners to develop and maintain confidence in their work, while also allowing the space to explore inevitable fallibility (of both supervisee and supervisor).
